HOW TO BE CONFIDENT WITH FASHION

I’ve always struggled with self-confidence. I don’t know why. Maybe because of some bad incidents that had happened in the past or just because of my nature. However, not with fashion! I feel self-confident when wearing statement pieces and don’t care what others may think about my fashion sense or appearance.
But I know that some of you don’t feel the way as I do and still aren’t "brave" enough to wear really outstanding pieces of clothing. So, I want to share some tips on how to be more confident with fashion!
Now, I am not saying I am the most confident and bravest human-being on earth! I still hate to speak out in class and can’t even do a proper presentation BUT I’d say I wear clothes that are more eccentrically than the average “leggings-and-plain-top-look”.

#1 Don’t care what people think about you

Last Friday was the first time I wore my favourite Culottes (damn comfortable trousers with wide legs) to school. It was actually quite difficult at first as literally everyone wears jeans if they don’t feel like putting on a skirt or dress. I am A-OK with that since I am a jeans-lover myself. But it can be a bit boring tbh. This is why I want to stay away from jeans at least two days a week. Coming back to what I was saying, you stand out with that trousers and I do got some “What-is-she-wearing?” kind of looks but I don’t care because they don’t understand fashion! I however, got some compliments from friends too which I didn’t expect and made my confident grow.

#2 Just do it &
wear what you wanna wear!

If you really like a certain piece of clothing just wear it! You can do what you want! If you feel comfortable in it and if it gives you a good feeling then wear it! As I said before don’t care about others. Care about you and your “needs”. If you don’t want to put on those same boring outfits day after day again, well then just not do it! Fashion should be fun! (Count how many times I've said ‘if’! Hahaha...)

#3 Pretend you’re confident

Although this one isn’t particularly about fashion it has helped me a lot. Just play your confidence and others will actually believe you’re. After some time as you have done it more often you will see the amazing results. With this technique I’ve gained more confidence than I thought I would, especially with fashion.

Are you confident with wearing statement pieces? Do you feel comfortable with your current style?
Let me know in the comments below! I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Xx,
Victoria

  5. Love this post, so truthful! I have struggled for some time but I think it also has to do with the research of your personal style - at times if we don't feel comfortable wearing a statement piece maybe it is because it doesn't suit who we are. After you've found it it's much easier to grow confidence and just wear whatever we like :)

  12. Thanks for these wonderful tips! I frequently struggle with self-confidence. If I just wore what I wanted and pretended I was confident It would be a lot easier than the useless "what if?" worrying I tend to do.
P.S.: You have wonderful fashion taste!
